Gary Marquis, a California Real Estate Broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial SC, maintains his office in San Diego and Orange County, California, and does business throughout Southern California and many parts of the country for his clients. He has more than 35 years of commercial real estate brokerage and management experience covering many facets of the real estate industry with hundreds of favorable commercial property owner, broker, and client relationships (buyers, sellers, and tenants). Gary was the Founding Managing Partner of Voit Commercial where he helped build that company by hiring, training, and/or directing a staff of nearly 200 brokers, agents and administrators to create one of the premiere regional commercial brokerage companies in Southern California. He was also named the “Business Development Chairman” at Voit Commercial to interface with significant property owners, developers, and institutional real estate entities to create and maintain relationships and develop “company” business. Other notable experience includes serving as Vice President and Executive Board Member of Daum Commercial with responsibility for a substantial part of Southern California, and President and owner of 1st Option Real Estate; both full-service commercial real estate brokerage firms. In 2012 he became a principal of Coldwell Banker Commercial SC as its Managing Partner. Having been directly or indirectly involved with thousands of transactions, Gary has extensive knowledge of all types of commercial and income producing real estate and possesses skills in client representation, recognizing opportunities in real estate, as well as building relationships with clients, peers, and brokers. He has directed and assisted with acquisitions, dispositions, development, and the leasing and sale of office, industrial, retail, land, and multi-family residential real estate for his clients. Gary has been involved with small, medium, and large real estate transactions from existing real estate leasing and sales, to ground-up development, to “build-to-suits” for corporate clients, including a $55 million income property portfolio sale; the largest real estate transaction in Orange County during that year.
He lives locally with his wife, Cheryl, and has two college graduated children; his daughter from the University of Texas, and Pepperdine Law School, and his son from the University of Southern California; both undergrad and graduate schools. Competitive sports including tennis and golf, as well as politics and travel, are among his outside interests.
Mr. Marquis graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the School of Business Administration (emphases in Marketing
and Management), from California State University at San Diego, California.
